2000 Swagman's Kiss Premium Red

4 grapes

What are delicious discovery! A wine, a blended wine at that, and it is simply delectable. Big, powerful with gorgeous aromas of black plums, blackcurrants, with a rich smoky wood feel. The palate expresses itself wonderfully with gobs of fresh black fruit, well rounded
tannins and an elegant balance ending in a long yet endearing finish. A great choice for that spectacular steak!

Technical details from Cliarault Wines

47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Shiraz, 16% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot

Balance, uncomplicated flavour and elegance through the palate epitomise this wine, much of it matured in older French oak to allow the berry fruit characters to fully present themselves.

The bouquet displays quite aromatic berry fruit and mint leaf with subtle earthiness. The fruit is quick to express itself on the palate, with slight mint, berry fruit and a light leafiness, all combining to provide an attractive spectrum of flavours.

Cellaring rewards

Drinks well now and for up to 4 years.

Winemaker's Notes

This wine style is made to be elegant, appealing and approachable when young, which influences the way each component of the blend is treated. The ferments are gently plunged by hand twice a day, to extract the colour and flavours but without excessive
tannins.
