Bobbie Burns Shiraz 1998 - Rutherglen - Australia

4 grapes

100% Shiraz
Alcohol ~ 14.6%

Winemaker Colin Campbell has done it again!

Dry conditions leading up to vintage resulted in powerful and rich shiraz flavours. After fermentation for five days using both closed fermenters and rotovats, the wine was subsequently aged in a mixture of new and three year old oak barrels.

The colour is a deep, bright crimson red. The bouquet is fresh with lifted spice and plum shiraz fruit. The palate is mouth filling. Generous spicy berry and plum fruit flavours fill the palate. The level of fruit and minimal oak tannins ensure a good long finish, still dominated by ripe fruit flavours.

The Purple Feet Rating System:

5 grapes = spectacular
4 grapes = delicious
3 grapes = yummy
2 grapes = okay
1 grape = awkward
