DAY 8
Great lunch featuring Escargots a la Bourignonne & Roasted Piglet.
Our afternoon was deicated to the region of Fronsac situated on the Right Bank, where merlot is king along with cabernet sauvignon, cabernet france and some tiny plots of malbec. Our bus took us to the historical Chateau de la Riviere, historically famous due to the great Charlemagne. Some grand history which ended on a very sad note when in 2013, the previous owner James Gregoire and new owner Mr. Kok (along with his 12 year old son and intrepreter) were all killed in a helicopetr crash overr the Dordogne, on a flight to celebrate the sale of this historic Bordeaux chateau.

Our last dinner in the main dinning room as we have booked the Chef's Table for our last night. The dinning experience have all been wonderful as both food and wine as well as service have been exemplary. . The great majority of dining staff are Romanians, who work on a full time basis from beginning of the season (end of March) till the end of November. So you need committed workers who are not afraid of long hours and days without a break (they take a 2 week break in September so many return to visit family).
